.DOCX extension stored in a field of type File Upload should be searchable

when uploading a word document with .docx extension, it is not searchable even if on the File Upload field definition, the "Index this field as part of the text search engine" is already checked. Only .doc is supported. Our client's web application requires those files to be searchable as most of their online applicants are now using Word 2007 files.
