Creating a new site for an existing multi-site database.

Does anyone know if there is an easy way to create a new site database for
an existing multi-site environment. I would like to make a copy of an
existing site and hit the ground running with all the same inventory,
customer, vendor, job, and routing information already loaded, copied from
another site.

The only option I currently see is to create an empty database and write
routines to dump the data from an existing site and loading it into the new
site.

Thanks.

Hi Scott,

We use online backup to copy live databases to disk, then restore to a
different location.

One thing to remember after restore, go to file -> system -> databases and
change the path to CON file. If you don't and you switch database when you
are in your new site, you will switch to your live database. If you don't
restore (backup) SYMGLBL everytime you create (refresh) the new site, the
file path will stay the same (it is stored in SYMGLBL).

HTH, Walter.

Why don't you use the "File - System - System Utilities - Database Utilities
- Unload Files & Load Files" ? You can choose which files to copy to the
new db.
