Job Title: Business Analyst
Provide business analysis support for the Enterprise Resource Planning
(ERP) systems for our manufacturing organization. This includes aligning
local business strategies and operational requirements to value center
business leveraging enterprise technology services and expertise.
Implement and develop technology solutions that deliver business results
and solve business problems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Use VBSS tools and processes to define, measure, analyze and
improve business systems
* Strong advocate for voice of the customer
* Define improvement areas, write proposals, provide supporting
cost/benefit analysis and project plans (translate business
requirements into functional specifications)
* Analyze business across-functional barriers
* Develop program specifications, code programs/queries as
necessary to support business using the SDLC.
* Prepare training materials and deliver education and guidance to
end users
* Provide ERP and helpdesk support to resolve root cause
* Maintain prioritization matrix for managing projects and resource
* Maintain documentation and deploy self-service solutions
* Provide strategic input into the overall IT prioritization,
planning and budget process
* Provide on-call support as required
Qualifications:
* BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Business or Engineering or
equivalent work experience
* 5-7 years programming experience with a 4GL language (Progress, SQL)
* Familiar with Six Sigma tools.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work both independently at local business unit and
partner with global IT team
* Ability to effectively react to changes in priorities and manage
other tasks as assigned
* Short duration travel may be required several times per year
Technical Requirements:
* Extensive ERP/MRP experience in a discrete/repetitive environment
* Project Management and Business Process Reengineering (BPR) skills
* Progress RDBMS; SQL Server, SharePoint, Business Objects,
Track-IT, Heat, SAP, QAD
* Operating System: Tru 64 Unix, Windows 2000, ODBC.
* Visio/other diagramming skills: to create flow charts, cause and
effect, process/data/work flow diagrams
2004-2005 Projects:
* Participate on cross-functional team to evaluate and implement
ERP software for value center. This includes functional requirements
gathering; GAP analysis; data mapping/conversion; system testing
* Implement enterprise wide cost savings initiatives including
Cost of Finance (COF) and Lean Back Office (LBO) applications.
Provide data integration to ERP to optimize local business
efficiencies.
* Provide consulting and IT services for VBSS lead Black Belt and
Green Belt projects
* Develop IT project metrics leveraging enterprise models
* Implement divisional reporting data mining/reporting tools
