While all of your non-techie friends are busy watching The Big Game, this weekend would be a really good time to put together that session proposal that you've been meaning to submit. The warm glow of fame, glory and unlimited adulation can all be yours -- no need for special protective gear or goon squads (propeller beanies and pocket protectors are optional).

Don't delay -- get your ideas together and submit your proposal now!

It's probably worth quoting:
"Accepted proposals will entitle the speaker to complimentary admission to the conference."

So, Tom, what would you say makes a hot topic for a break-out session at the moment? I can't do the Americas one, but am considering options for EMEA later in the year...

Last year's agenda and schedule are still posted on the web site -- they might help you to get a better idea for the sorts of things that we have found interesting in the past.

We look for things that will be technical in nature and interesting to OpenEdge people. Unlike Exchange it doesn't have to be "bleeding edge" or related to whatever Progress sales is pushing this week. We are very interested in topics that help people make the most of what they already have or which demonstrate techniques for overcoming the challenges that they might face.

There is always a crowd for "making the most of" or "things you didn't know about" type of sessions.

"Forgotten gems" are good topics. (You'd be amazed how many people use and love webspeed.)

Case studies and success stories are great.

"Deep dives" into some aspect of OpenEdge technology work well.

Complimentary technoligies are good -- for instance, we're seeing a lot of interest in things like node and Angular right now.

Application-specific stuff maybe not so much -- you cannot, for instance, assume that everyone is a qad user.

How's that?
